What Information Do We Collect?

Personal information you disclose to us. In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us. Certain information generated through your use of the Services, including but not limited to content expressing political views, religious beliefs, philosophical positions, or references to racial or ethnic identity within debate content, may constitute “special category” or “sensitive” personal information under applicable law. We do not intentionally solicit such information. Where it is incidentally collected as part of debate participation, it is anonymized or aggregated prior to any use or sharing and is never processed in a form that identifies you individually.

The Service may also request permission to access the contact lists on your mobile device.

Information automatically collected. In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit and use our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. In connection with your use of interactive features on the Services, we may also collect data relating to your engagement patterns, response behaviors, and platform interactions (“Interaction Data”). Interaction Data is anonymized before use and may be processed in aggregated form for research and development purposes. It will not be shared with third parties in a form that could reasonably identify you.

Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

Aggregate information collected. We may also collect anonymous, non-identifying, and aggregate information, the date and time of any request, language preference, referring website, the website you go to after visiting our Site, and the domain name of your Internet provider.

Financial information. Although it may appear that we collect financial information from you on the Service, it is actually collected and processed through a Payment Processor to process payments for the Service. The Payment Processor may collect financial information such as banking information, credit card number, name, CVV code, and/or Credit Card date of expiration, from you on the Service. We do not hold, nor can we access, your financial information, but to a certain extent we are able to exercise control over what the Payment Processor does with your information.

How Do We Process Your Information?

We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services (including for promotional emails, and tracking usage trends), communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with applicable law. We may also process your information to enable the optional integration with various Platforms and develop and enhance the features and capabilities of the Services, including through partnerships with third-party technology and research organizations. Where data is used for these purposes, it will first be anonymized or aggregated so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so.

A core component of how we operate and generate revenue involves licensing and selling personally identifiable information (“PII”) that has been anonymized and aggregated, potentially including data derived from user interactions, including debate transcripts, engagement metrics, and interaction records, to third-party organizations, which may include AI research laboratories, technology companies, and commercial data purchasers. Before any such licensing or selling occurs, all data is processed to remove personally identifiable information so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. This use is foundational to our business model and constitutes a legitimate interest under applicable law.

Where required by law, we will obtain your explicit consent before processing your data for commercial data partnerships.

BY USING ONE OR MORE OF OUR SERVICES, YOU HEREBY CONSENT TO OUR RECORDING, USE, LICENSING, AND DISCLOSURE OF ANY TELEPHONE CALL AND/OR MEETING, DEBATE, OR OTHER CONVERSATION TO WHICH YOU ARE A PARTY (OR ITS RECORDING, AS APPLICABLE) (ALL SUCH RECORDINGS ARE CONTRIBUTIONS FOR PURPOSES OF OUR TERMS OF USE), WHETHER SUCH CONVERSATION IS BETWEEN YOU AND GABBLE, OR BETWEEN YOU AND ANY OTHER PERSON(S) AND/OR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT CONSENT TO SUCH RECORDING, USE, LICENSING, AND DISCLOSURE, YOU MAY NOT USE OUR SERVICES.

When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.

We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

We may share, sell, and license anonymized and aggregated data derived from your use of the Services with third-party organizations engaged in research, technology development, or related commercial activities. Before any such sharing occurs, data is processed to remove personally identifiable information. Any sharing will be conducted in accordance with applicable privacy law.

  • Business Partners. We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
